Digital Dictation Dictation Goes Digital
Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR) has a long history of working with various medical transcription (MT) services, including five independent MTs or MT services. Their physicians have close working relationships with their MTs and the MTs are familiar with the physician's dictation style and use of medical and technical jargon. MOR needed a system that would help improve the workflow of its support staff and turnaround time from its MT services. Read more...

Digital Dictation Smart Tools in Practice
Physicians should spend the majority of their day delivering quality patient care. Most would probably prefer to focus their time on improving the quality of life for patients rather than dealing with administrative issues. The last thing a physician needs to be inconvenienced by is note dictation, including dictating his or her own notes, finding transcribed documents, or locating notes from referring physicians. Pronexus Pronexus Case Study: Healthcare Dictation Solution
Scribe developed an online solution with VBVoice that allows medical physicians to use a telephone or a handheld recorder to dictate information. The solution, complete with Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) technology, requires minimal set-up and there are
no hardware/software costs associated for their customers if Scribe hosts. It can be customized with user IDs, a customized keypad and customize prompts, depending on how the user would like the solution customized. Read more...

Administrator Coordinator - University of Chicago
Our Section has been utilizing the on-line service of Scribe since about 2002.

I was introduced to Scribe during a presentation by Scribe and another dictation service in a conference setting.

Scribe, the initial conference, seemed to have an edge over the other companies’ dictation services, as well, Scribe seemed more user-friendly.Our representative, John Weiss, had a meeting with our top personnel and was given the green light to bring Scribe on board with our Section.

John Weiss personally trained each of our attendings and fellows. John, as well as all Scribe personnel were courteous, knowledgeable and prompt in responding to queries.Scribe continues to be user-friendly, even as Scribe continues to update their on-line services.

Scribe is top-notch because we are able to track our dictations in regards to users, time lines, dictation compilations, and the ability to contact Scribe transcribers for necessary revisions (which are rare). Scribe’s tracking service is unmatched and very valuable to our Section.

Scribe Customer Service usually replies promptly and efficiently to solve problem areas.
To date, our file secretary interacts and contacts Scribe to trouble shoot problems for our Section. However, even though I use Scribe now on a limited basis, I am still able to log onto Scribe and use its services without further training, confident in Scribe’s service.Even more so than my satisfaction with Scribe as office personnel, our attendings and fellows continue to use Scribe with rare problems.

In short, I really feel Scribe is the best dictation service ever. If our Section had to choose a dictation service today, I would promote Scribe’s dictation service again – hands down!!

Department Coordinator - Rush University Medical Center
The way that Scribe solutions has helped our organization is that it has enabled us to receive and organize all of our dictations in a timely manner and everything is on-line so it is very easy to look for once it has been completed. Doctors are constantly referring back to their dictations and Scribe has made so accessible. It makes the office staff happy and the physicians.

Director of Operations - Rose-Text, Inc.
I am the Director of Operations for a mid-size medical transcription service. Before we began using Scribe, most of my day was spent making corrections and looking for lost transcription.

In the past, we used a digital dictation system and once the notes were transcribed, we either emailed or sent transcription via FTP. The transcriptionist would type the note, save a copy, and then send the note to us. We then edited the note, saved it, and sent to the physician. The physician's office would then look over the note, make handwritten revisions, fax back to us, and then we would make the revisions and send back to the physician. This was a very time consuming process. It also posed a problem in that there was not a true original. The transcriptionist saved a copy, our administrative group saved a copy, and the physician saved a copy if they made any revisions. One of my favorite features of Scribe, is that there is one true copy and it reflects any revisions made along the way.

Due to disorganization or occasionally computer problems, there were also several requests for misplaced notes. We spent countless hours a week looking for and resending transcription that had been missplaced. Once we began using Scribe, we spend very little time helping physician's offices find misplaced notes. The MD side of Scribe is very user friendly and the offices find that it is much easier for them to find a particular note. Also, if they are unable to find it, it is much easier for us to locate.

Our transcription service has almost doubled since we started using Scribe a little over a year ago. It is very marketable to the physicians due to its ease of use and the fact that it can interact with EMR. Also, we are able to take on more volume due to the time saving features. We would definitely not been able to increase our volume so quickly if we were still spending countless hours looking for lost notes and making revisions.

We were all a little wary when we made the transition to Scribe, but all agree that it was the best decision we could have made.
