| 1. What software is required to work with Scribe? |
To use the "text only" platform all you need is an Internet connection and browser (preferably Microsoft
Internet Explorer). IE must be version 5 or higher. To use the "Word" platform you need to be
running Microsoft 2000 or XP operating system and have Microsoft Word 2000, XP, or 2003 installed with all patches and
security packs installed. |

Dictation |
| 1. What is the dictation phone number? | 1-866-SCRIBE1 (1-866-727-4231) |
| 2. What are the commands to use the phone system? | Click here to download a phone system reference card. |
| 3. What is the address of the FTP site to upload Olympus Files? | ftp://inbound.scribe.com - you'll need your userid and password to access the site.
Then just drag and drop the voice files into the directory. |
| 4. What's the status of my dictation? | You can view the status of a dictation by logging into the Scribe Platform and going to the Pending Section of the Files Tab.
There you will see the status of all dictations currently being processed. You can sort the list by clicking on a column header. You can
also find a dictation by clicking on the Dict ID Search link on the left and entering the dictation number you were given on the phone, then hit search. |
| File Management - Pending/Inbox/Archive |
| 1. I'm new, in general how do I use the system? | Click here to download the Scribe MD Welcome Guide which will give you an overview to help you get started. |
| 2. My Dictation is not transcribed yet, can I listen to it? | Yes, go to the pending section of the Files tab, find the dictation you need
and click on the link in the recorded column to listen to your dictation. |
| 3. I can't find the transcription I need. | First check the pending section to see if the dictation has been transcribed.
If it has, then use the search tools on the left side to find it by entering whatever information you know about the file. Note you can also search for transcriptions
by using the dictation ID give to you on the phone when the dication was completed. |
4. How can I see whether I sent a document to someone? | Click on the T icon from the file list or the Tracking button while you are looking at a file.
It will pop-up a window showing you everything that has happened to the document - including who its been sent via fax or email too. |
5. How can I find all patients that have a certain drug or condition? | Use the advanced search box on the left side and enter the text of the condition
drug or other item you wish to search for. It will find all documents that have that text anywhere in the document. |
| 5. How can I see what I've not printed? | Click the advanced search link on the left side of the inbox/archive. Use the tracked events
drop-down boxes to filter for Not Printed - then select a time frame, and/or by anyone or just you from the drop-downs below. Then click the
search button. The documents will then be presented in the list. |
| 6. Can I fax or email my documents directly from my Scribe account? | Yes, simply click on the Send button to communicate your documents via email or fax. |
| 7. What if I want to print multiple documents? | Place a check mark in each of the documents you wish to print and click on the Print button. A new web browser window appears with all the documents included in one print job. |
| Reporting |
| 1. I don't see a reporting tab, how can I access reports? | If you don't see a reporting tab then you currently
do not have permission to access reports. Talk with your department administrator who will let you know whether or not you are eligible to view them, then have them call Scribe to add you. |
| Administration |
| 1. I've forgotten my password/pin number. | You can talk with your department administrator to have them reset your
password (if they have access) or call Scribe Support at 1-866-6SCRIBE. We will verify your identity before providing passwords. |
| 2. How do I change my password/pin number. | Simply login to the web site with and go to the Preferences tab. Click on the login link
to the left and you'll be able to change either password or pin number or both. |
| PatientChart |
| 1. I don't see a Charts tab, how can I access Charts? | If you don't see a Charts tab then you do not currently have permission to access
the PatientChart features. Call your Scribe Account Manager or Support at 1-866-6SCRIBE to find out how to get this functionality. |
