When trying to delete a contact there are a few rules:
The Delete button on the MD platform is to permanently delete the contact from every Address Book the contact exists in and can only be used by the owner of the contact.
You can delete contacts from specific address books by going into the contact detail and unchecking the address book you want the contact removed from.
